Bookkeeping, payroll tax and sales tax for marketing agencies, consultants & professional services
A service business earns by invoice and spends mostly on people and software. RazaPro keeps invoices and receipts matched to the bank, tracks freelancer and contractor payments for 1099s, and calculates payroll tax for a small team, so the owner knows what each month really earned.
What marketing agencies, consultants & professional services have to get right
Revenue arrives by invoice and retainer
Retainers, projects and one-off work are paid at different times. Receivables decide how much cash is really available.
Freelancers and remote contractors
Work is often done by freelancers, sometimes across states or abroad. Payments need W-9s or W-8s on file and clean 1099 totals at year-end.
Dozens of software subscriptions
Subscriptions on several cards are easy to miss and double count, so monthly categories need review.
Owner pay is mixed with the business
Many owners pay themselves by draw, salary or distribution. Each has different tax treatment and has to be recorded correctly.

Sales tax
Some states tax certain services, software or digital products, and many do not tax professional services at all. RazaPro calculates sales tax only after the owner’s CPA confirms what the client’s state taxes.
Payroll and payroll tax
A team of up to five employees in one state is the standard scope. Contractors are paid outside payroll and tracked for 1099 reporting.
Not included in the standard scope
- Project profitability and utilization reporting beyond the standard reports
- Contractor-versus-employee decisions (owner and CPA)
- Foreign contractor tax-form review
- Budgeting, forecasting and CFO advisory
RazaPro does not prepare or file income tax returns or give tax advice. Tax decisions and signatures stay with the business and its CPA.
